Activities

If you get tired of staring out to sea, what else is there to do in the area?

Walking & Beaches

The coastal path is world renowned for its beauty; great walking trails, wooded dells and miles of empty sandy beaches. St. Brides Bay isn’t far and is the perfect spot to start a walking adventure. Newgale beach is 15 minutes away- a haven for surfers and walkers alike, its picturesque, mile-long sands are refreshing come rain or shine. Ask us for our favourite spots, or go an explore and tell us yours- and don’t forget to keep an eye out for our resident superpod of porpoises! Be aware that during May- September some beaches have dog restrictions, but the coastal path is dog friendly year-round.

Activities

The great outdoors activity company TYF is just up the coast, and is the first carbon neutral outdoor adventure company. They invented coasteering (jumping in to the sea from varying heights on cliffs- love it!) and have been leading groups for over 30 years in this area, so if you’re wanting high adrenaline fun, a surf /kayak/ climbing lesson or to rent bikes and equipment yourself, they’re the ones to call. Horse Riding is always popular, and a great way to see some more of the landscape around us. From trekking up hills to riding through the surf there are stables at Nolton that accommodate for most abilities. Zorbing– basically rolling down a hill in a giant bubble, Zorbing is lots of fun! We’re lucky enough to have a company on our doorstep who have just extended their grass track- well worth a trip!

Family Days Out

There are loads of options if you’re looking for a full day of entertainment for the family, the nearby town of St Davids has lots of shops, galleries, cafe’s and the gorgeous Cathedral & Bishops Palace to explore. The Blue Lagoon – offers swimming and rides, and spa time for parents too! Oakwood Theme Park – for all ages, although older children and teens will be best suited as some rides have height restrictions. Folly Farm – Don’t be fooled by the name, this is much more than a petting zoo! With giraffes, a successful breeding programme for penguins, lions and cubs and lots more exotic animals! Heatherton –Individually priced attractions from treetops, go karting, paintball to archery, baseball and mini-golf. Anna’s Welsh Zoo – Anna Ryder-Richardson’s Manor House Zoo is home to a huge amount of exotic and not-so-exotic animals, but also holds lots of events during holidays for children.

Food & Drink

Lots of brilliant places to eat and hang out and one of our favourites is just 15 minutes away at the Druidstone which has to be one of the most relaxed and beautiful places to have food and drink ever! The lovely hotel is set on the edge of the cliffs and you can enjoy the most spectacular sunsets whilst sitting eating and drinking wonderful food. For anyone with intolerances, Oriel Y Parc Cafe in St Davids has a great range of gluten/dairy free options and are always up for helping.
